Situated on a small plain surrounded by a number of karst peaks, Yangshuo is a small town of Guilin in Guangxi Province. The city of Yangshuo is bordered on one side by the Lijiang River. Due to its gallant karst peaks and beautiful river, it has become extremely popular with foreign backpackers to go camping and mountaining. It is also an ideal place for cycling and Mountain Biking.

As a landmark of Yangshuo, Moon Hill has a natural round cave at the peak. Seen from a far distance, the cave in the peak resembles the moon. That's where its name came from. Yangshuo was once visited by former US President Bill Clinton on his visit to China.
