Harbin is a thriving industrial city in Heilongjiang Province of China. It is not only the capital of Heilongjiang but it is also the political, economic, scientific, cultural and communications center of Northeast China.

Harbin city proper covers a total area of 53,000 square kilometers and its urban areas take up 1,637 square kilometers. The city is clearly divided into seven districts.
